A West Cliff Airbnb is a flat on the clifftop west of Bournemouth Pier, a walk from the Bournemouth International Centre on Exeter Road and from the beach at Durley Chine. That gives the listing two kinds of guest: event visitors who book around the BIC's programme, and beach visitors in the summer. The same flat has to appeal to a delegate in March and a family in August, so the listing answers both:

• For event guests: the walking time to the BIC, the town centre and Bournemouth station, the wifi, a table or desk to work at, and the bed configuration for colleagues sharing.
• For beach guests: the walk to Durley Chine and the pier, the kitchen, the sleeping arrangements for children, and parking.

The photographs lead with light, space and any view over Poole Bay. Beach access is described as it stands: the West Cliff Lift normally runs in summer but did not open in 2025 after cliff slips, and the zig-zag paths through West Cliff Gardens are the other way down. House rules protect the building: quiet hours for late returns from concerts, no parties, guest numbers matched to the beds, and clear instructions on entry systems, lifts, bins and parking. Where an existing listing is good, we co-host it rather than starting again.

Rules and costs

Check the lease: many West Cliff blocks restrict short lets or need the freeholder's consent, and your lender and insurer must know. BCP Council charges a 100% premium on furnished second homes unless the flat is available to let for 140 nights and actually let for 70 in a year, when business rates apply instead. You need a fire risk assessment, a gas safety certificate where there is gas, electrical checks and insurance that covers paying guests.
